Valerie Keane

My family honored the arts. I grew up surrounded by beautiful things made by my talented relatives or lovely decorative items carefully selected by my mother to make our home. We lived in a very small town in a beautiful valley in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. The breathtaking natural beauty, coupled with my restlessness and a craving for something to do, inspired me to try my skills at making anything and everything. Although I eventually left my beautiful mountain town, I've continued to pursue my passion through studying crafting and art from all over the world. I have lived and studied art in Florence, Italy and now make my home in New York City where I have the wonderful opportunity to pursue my love of the arts on a daily basis.

For decades, I searched for an artistic medium to bring together all that I have learned during my artistic journey. Five years ago I discovered the art of decoupage on glass that has its origins in the Middle Ages. The art of decoupage is my passion today. Art is my labor of love. I strive to produce beautiful pieces that invoke feelings of magic and serenity. I dream that my art inspires you to take up your own creative project and open yourself to an endless world of enjoyment.
